Lately...

Summer has been so fun and busy!  Here's some things that have been going on in the past several weeks!
Avey's like, "What, Mom?!  I like when she sits on me!"

Daddy and his outdoor girl!  They love to be doing anything outside!

My sweet babies.  Sometimes I STILL can't believe I am lucky enough to be their mama!

We love when Great Grandma Barkley comes to visit!:)

Alexis loves her new sprinkler from Herb and Jana!

She also loves her new tricycle from Grandma and Grandpa!  It lives outside now.:)

My angel baby!

This girl LOVES to play in water!

Happy girl!  Thankfully, she is pretty content to sit in the shade and watch her sister play.

Sliding in to her baby pool!

We got caught in the sprinkler!  So fun!:)

A little relaxation is good for everyone!:)

A mama/daughter selfie!  My girl is so beautiful.

Another mama/daughter selfie!  I love that girl's silly, pretty smile!!!  We had an unusually cool morning so we had to bundle up for the boys' soccer game.:)

VBS 2014

A couple of weeks ago, we had participated in Vacation Bible School at our church!
Alexis and Ava went to the nursery every night and enjoyed playing with their friends (mostly Lex) and snuggling (mostly Ave).  Here's Alexis with some of her friends: Brody, Tanna, Reid, and Emerson.

Playing with bubbles!

We got to take the girls out to sing with the big kids each night at the end of the program.  They loved watching all the singing and dancing!:)

We taught the primary age Bible class each night.  This was one of our silly groups that included Peyton.:)

He got to dress up as a king...he was being a good sport and humoring me with a picture.:)  We love spending time with our church family!

Ava: 7 Months Old!

Our Avey baby is 7 months old today!  She is such a doll baby!:)

Alexis has been going through these monthly picture shoots for almost her whole life for herself or her sissy and today was the first time that she was into it!  She asked for her own sticker, climbed right up beside her sister, and said "cheeeeeeeese!!!":)

Ava, here's what you are up to this month:
  • No doctor visit this month so no official stats!  Probably right around the 17 pound mark!
  • You are still wearing a wide range of clothing sizes...anywhere from 3-6 months to 9 months.  Your 6-9 month clothes have enough room to grow that you should be good to go in them until fall!
  • You are still wearing size 1 shoes.  I think they are starting to get a little more snug so maybe your feet are starting to grow!
  • You wear size 3 diapers.
  • You nurse about every 3 hours during the day.  You eat a 4 oz. bottle of breastmilk at bedtime.  You eat one meal of solid food at supper time.  You have tried green beans, carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, applesauce, pears, and maybe something else that I can't remember right now?!  You haven't tried a thing you don't like yet!
  • You are working on getting your first two teeth!  In fact, I would guess that one or both of them will be through in the next couple of days.  Teething hasn't been toooooo awful, but you are definitely fussier than usual (you really want to be held!) and your sleeping schedule has suffered some.
  • As I just mentioned, your sleeping habits have declined slightly this month.  You still sleep really well through the night, but you are waking up around 6am.  This is too early to start the day in the Hall household!;)  Lately, I have been getting up and feeding you and putting you back to bed.  You usually go back to sleep until 7:30 or 8.  You have been napping alright, but not as great as you usually do.  You might nap for an hour or so in the morning and 1.5-2 hours in the afternoon.  This could just be part of you getting a little older and not needing as much sleep, too.  We'll see after these teeth come in!
  • You have started showing a little bit of your sassy side lately!  I'm hoping it's teething-related, but again we shall see.:)  When you do not want to do something, you arch your back so hard that your head almost touches your feet!  You scream while you are at it.  It's not your most becoming look.;)  Daddy says that you have a streak of feisty in you and I think he's right!
  • You sit pretty well on your own.  You still crash occasionally, but not very often.  You couldn't care less about trying to move anywhere on your own.  When you are laying on the floor, you just hang out in one spot until you get tired of it and then fuss.  You are making no moves towards crawling, scooting, or anything else!
  • We call you Sissy, Ave, and Avey-wavey a lot.
Baby girl,

Your smile and giggle make us so happy.  You are such a delight and we love you so much!  Please remember this and don't bite Mama too much when your teeth come in.;)

Love, Mama and Dada

Weekend in Review

We had such a fun weekend!  I have lots of photos to document the festivities.:)
This was actually on Thursday, but I decided to include it as part of our weekend.  Daddy's softball team played at the park and Lex and Brody got to hang out!  He wanted a snack so she fed him.:)

Love these two!:)

Avey is such a good girl!  She is so easygoing and just goes to sleep when she's tired!

On Friday night, we went to Ronnie and Brenda's for a life group get together.  Tucker and Ava hung out while the big kids were swimming!

Ave even tried out the pond and liked it!

Alexis dug in the sand with Brody and Jackson.

Saturday was a super busy and fun day!  We started out with the Heritage Days parade in the morning!  The girls did awesome and seemed to really enjoy it!

We met up with Shane and Michele and the kids, Alicia and Diego, and Kaitlyn and Tyler.

Ava saw a lot of things for the first time, including a clown who gave her a stamp on her hand!:)

Grammy sang in the parade on her church's float!

The weather was absolutely delightful.  It was overcast and slightly cool...the perfect weather for a parade!  Ava got sleepy towards the end and snuggled up for a nap.:)

After the parade, we went over the police station for hot dogs and drinks.  These cousins love to be together!

After the parade, it was time for Caleb's graduation party!  I didn't take any pictures, unfortunately.  Kate got this super sweet one of Ava while we were there.  She looks so beautiful in purple!

After the party, we loaded up one more time and headed to the balloon glow at the high school!  We met up with Rick and Tabby and the girls, Mom and Dad, Michele and the kids, and several other friends.  Alexis l-o-v-e-s Ella and Maggi and was thrilled to hang out with them!

She loved watching the balloons go up!

This little sweetie pie was enthralled by all the happenings, too!  We are so, so thankful that she is so flexible and willing to go along with all of the stuff we do!

It is so cool to watch the balloons "come to life" before your eyes.  Unfortunately, there was rain pushing its way in so they started the show early and kept it pretty short.  It's such a fun event and it's quickly becoming a tradition for us to attend!:)  It was a delightful (and exhausting) weekend with my family!:)

Happy Father's Day!

We had so much fun celebrating our favorite daddy on Father's Day!
The day started off with breakfast in bed!  The girls even slept in so that he could eat in relative peace.:)

Daddy gave his girl some smoochies!

Avey sure loves her dada.:)

We even got ready in plenty of time to open gifts before church!  (AND we stopped at McDonald's for coffee on the way...that is a Father's Day miracle!;)

We got Bry a new coffee mug with pictures of his girls on it.  He has been using this purple mug of mine because he says it's the perfect size.  We ordered him the same size, but in a little more manly look.:)  We went to Kaitlyn and Tyler's new house for lunch and came home to hang out for the rest of the day!  We love you, Daddy!!!
