Success!

I went to the doctor for an ultrasound and bloodwork today and they are pretty sure that I ovulated! I had one follicle that was 13 mm. The ultrasound tech said that was expected as it should be on the decrease in size if it had already released an egg. She also saw some "free fluid" that indicates ovulation had occurred. I also had an estradiol level drawn today. Next Thursday I will go and have my progesterone level tested. Brooke, my favorite nurse, said that they want the level to be at 10 or more. God has answered prayer after prayer for this cycle so I am hopeful that He will continue! I am trying to prepare myself for not being pregnant this cycle, but I know a negative test will still be a bummer. I am happy that we at least have a chance this time around!

Gatlinburg

The week after school was out we headed to Gatlinburg for vacation! It was just me and my sweet hubby and we had a great time!

It was HOT (like 95 degrees every day), but we stayed close to the pool and air conditioning. We went on several hikes, explored Smoky Mountain National Park, and went to lots of yummy restaurants. We even saw two bears!

One of our favorite things was the Dixie Stampede! I got tickets because everyone said we should go there, but I wasn't expecting a whole lot. I loved the show! It was so fun and worth the ridiculous price.

On the way home from Gatlinburg, we stopped at Kentucky Horse Park. I went there many, many times as a child and I've always wanted Bry to see it. It was surprisingly very much like it used to be! They have expanded it, but they still have the same shows. I loved it!

Day 14

Today is CD14. Known in my neck of the woods as "the day that I should ovulate, but never do even with ridiculous amounts of fertility medication!" I have been praying all week for a glimmer of hope. Just something to keep me sure that we are doing the right thing in pursuing medical help for our infertility. Well, I got a glimmer today! I got up around 5am, peed in a cup (with my eyes closed and the lights off...I'm an old pro! ha!), and left it on the counter for my dear husband to deal with when he got up for work. He came into our bedroom around 6:30 and said that we got a smiley face! I thought he was kidding, but he assured me he wasn't. I was still half asleep and told him that we needed to take a picture of the stick. He came right back with the camera and showed me the picture! (I CANNOT even imagine what it's going to be like when we get a positive pregnancy test!:) I called the doctor and I'm going in for an ultrasound tomorrow morning. I am praying for at least one (maybe two!) good looking follicles and a trigger shot. I have said many times that I would be happy to just ovulate like a normal person. Our doctor has told us that we have basically not had any chance of getting pregnant up until now because I just don't ovulate like I'm supposed to. I feel like this might be the beginning of our real chance to "try!" Thank you, Lord, for answering prayers!
