Trip to the Apple Orchard 2013

Last Sunday, we got the chance to take Lex to our favorite apple orchard!  It is the County Line Orchard in Hobart, IN.  It is a 2 hour drive to get there, but we always have so much fun!  This time we went with Shane & Michele & their kids and Chad & Chanda & their girls!
Lex fell asleep for a little while on the way there and kept making this face when she was waking up!  Ha!
They make the most delicious doughnuts at this orchard.  Alexis enjoyed the pumpkin kind!
Bry, Lex, and Zaya waiting to go on the wagon ride.
Lex and sweet Hadley!
Our little family on the wagon ride!
Our whole group at the entrance of the corn maze...Michele, Shane, Lillian, Peyton, Isaiah, me, Bry, Lex, Chad, Jocelyn, Chanda, and Hadley!
Making our way through the maze!
We got to check out their pumpkin patch.
Considering that this visit was mostly for apples, you would think I would have a better photo from the orchard...but I don't!  This is actually the only one I took.  My pregnant legs were starting to give out around this time!
My sweet nephews by the growth chart.
They had a little straw maze for young kids and Lex loved it!  She acted like she knew what she was doing!:)
They also had a little area for kids 3 and under that had all kinds of ride on toys and tractors.  Alexis absolutely loved this John Deere tricycle!
Our best attempt to get the kids' picture!:)
They had all kinds of animals that you could pet and feed.
Sister was worn out!  She fell asleep in her stroller for about 15 minutes before we left.
And thanks to that short nap, she stayed awake for the entire 2 hour ride home!  She chewed on her toes to pass the time.;)  Pretty sure she might be working on some molars!
Peyton crashed on Uncle Bry for the last little bit of our trip.

It was a SUPER fun day!  I can't wait to go back again...with our family of 4!

Story Time at the Library

Last week, we started going to story time at the library on Wednesday mornings!
Anna and Brody have been going, too.  It is so much fun!
Anna and Brody in front of the castle!
Me and my girl at the library!

These two are so stinkin' cute.:)
Alexis likes to play the maracas during the Bang, Bang song!
She would be perfectly content to be able to roam free during story time...unfortunately for her, sitting still is on the agenda.:)  She does pretty well as long as she has some snacks to keep her occupied!
She has so much fun that she is worn out by the time we leave.  She was asleep less than 2 minutes after leaving the library on Wednesday!:)

Baby #2: 29/30 Weeks!

Time for some catch up!
I didn't get an official 29 week picture, so I am using these that I took with Anna!:)

30 weeks pregnant with little missy!
How Far Along: 30 Weeks

Size of baby: The baby weighs about 3 pounds and is about 15 inches long, about the size of a large cabbage.

Gender: It's a GIRL!

Maternity Clothes: Wearing maternity pants and any shirt that is long enough to cover me up! I am loving the transition into fall clothes...more options!

Weight gain: 40 pounds

Belly button: It is bordering on being out full time now.  It still goes in and out some, probably depending on baby girl's position.

Movement: She moves quite a bit still, but she's definitely starting to slow down.  Running out of room!:)  I love when I can see her moving so clearly.

Sleep: I've been sleeping alright.  I usually get up twice a night to go to the bathroom, but I enjoy the chance to stretch my hips!

Symptoms: I am continuing to have trouble with varicose veins.  I cannot stand for any length of time without my legs hurting and it definitely gets worse as the day goes on.  I just know that I need to sit as much as I can, when I can!:)  I have been wearing my compression stockings some and they do seem to help a little bit.

Cravings: Strawberry orange banana juice and cereal!

Best Moment This Week: I think we have finally decided on a name for this sweet girl!  More to come on that later...:)

Play Date with Friends

Last week, we had a lunch date/play date with some friends!  Anna invited us, Michele & the cousins, and Heather & Bennett over to hang out with her and Brody.  It was a beautiful day to enjoy playing outside together!
The kids loved playing on Brody's new playset!

Alexis loved walking up the drawbridge and even tried sliding back down on it like a slide.:)

She's not a big fan of swinging still, but she loves going down the slide!  She went down this one by herself!

The three littlest friends (for a couple more months!)...Brody, Lill, and Lex!

Anna and I very unintentionally dressed alike so we had to take some bump pics!:)

I was 29 weeks pregnant and Anna was 27 weeks in this photo.  I love having someone to compare notes with all the time!:)

All the kiddos...Peyton, Bennett, Alexis, Isaiah, Lillian, and Brody!

A Weekend Away, Part 2

Time to finish up telling about our fun weekend away!:)  On Saturday morning, we were l-a-z-y around our hotel room and it was WONDERFUL!  We enjoyed the hotel's breakfast buffet and then got ready to head downtown for some fun.
My husband, the family ironer (is that a word?!).  He couldn't take that his shirt was wrinkled so he made me help him iron the shirt while he was wearing it!!!:)

We, of course, had made lunch plans to eat at one of our favorites, P.F. Chang's!

We had yummy food and then checked out Circle Center Mall for a little while.

Then, we walked to the canal and just enjoyed being outside on a beautiful fall day!

I never get tired of spending time with this handsome guy!

We decided to try something new and take a paddle boat out on the canal.

It was really fun and relaxing...especially for me.:)  Bry did 90% of the paddling and I got to put my feet up and rest after LOTS of walking.  I don't enjoy playing the "pregnancy card," but my legs have really been giving me fits in the last couple of weeks.  I was perfectly happy to be along for the ride!  We got several comments as we traveled along the canal.:)
Speaking of my legs giving me fits, we went back to our hotel room after our adventures downtown and just relaxed!  I put my feet up and took a nap while Bry got to watch some college football.  It was a win-win situation!:)

After our rest time, we got dressed and ready to head out to our next dinner reservation at Fogo de Chao's!

Fogo de Chao's is a Brazilian steakhouse that Bryan had mentioned several times that he wanted to try.  It's a little more upscale than we generally spring for, so it was a fun treat!

They didn't really have an actual menu since they have one main meal that they serve.  This menu was just wine and cocktails!  Holy cow!

The neatest thing about the restaurant is that they have these gaucho chefs that walk around with huge skewers of meat and you just tell them what you want.  We enjoyed trying all of the different types of steak, chicken, duck, and pork that they offered.  We left very full!:)

On Sunday, we lounged around our hotel room again and enjoyed the breakfast buffet.  Then we headed home to get our sweet baby girl!  She had a blast with her grandma all weekend.  We had so much fun just having some time to reconnect and relax with each other!:)

A Weekend Away, Part 1

Last weekend, Bryan and I got to go on a much-anticipated weekend away!  We have been looking forward to it for a few months now.  We had trouble deciding where we wanted to go, but ultimately decided that we really just wanted to spend some quality time together!  After discussing some different options, we ended up choosing to go to Indianapolis for a couple of days.  We got a good deal on a hotel room, made some reservations at restaurants we've wanted to try out, and headed out on Friday morning!
Me and my hubs on our way to Indianapolis!:)

It was a GORGEOUS fall day on Friday!

Our first stop was at Tony Sacco's Coal Oven Pizza at the Clay Terrace Mall in Carmel.  I had eaten there with my girlfriends a few weeks ago and thought it was yummy.  It reminded me of the pizza we ate on our honeymoon so I knew that I had to take Bry back with me!

Bry was a fan!
My pizza was delicious!!!
Afterwards, we found a nail salon at the mall and Bry was sweet to sit with me while I got a pedicure.  It felt amazing!

After we finished with the pedicure, we headed to our hotel to check in.  We stayed at the Hilton Indianapolis North and it was nice!  Nothing extremely fancy, but clean and quiet.  Bryan had to check for bedbugs before we settled in.:)

We went for a swim in the hotel pool, relaxed in our room for a while, and then got ready for our dinner date!

We had reservations at a new-to-us restaurant, The Melting Pot!

It was yummy and a fun new experience!  We got the four-course meal, which included cheese fondue, salad, the main entrée, and chocolate fondue.

Our favorites were the main entrée and the dessert!  It was definitely someplace that we would like to go back to again someday, hopefully with some friends!:)
