Lexi's First Trip to an Apple Orchard

Last week, we took Alexis to her first apple orchard!  We wanted to get some apples so we figured we might as well get the whole experience.:)  We went to Advanced Tree Technology in New Haven.  They had a decent amount of apples even with the late frost and the drought this summer!

Date Night

Bryan and I got to go on a date over the weekend! We went shopping and to Red Lobster for dinner. I love spending time with my handsome man!:)

Alexis: Five Months Old!

Today our sweet girl is five months old!  

 

Alexis, here's what you are up to this month:

• No doctor's appointment this month, so I'm not sure about your stats!  You keep growing like a weed.:)
• You are still wearing mostly 6 month clothes.  You are about ready to move up to 9 month jammies because your toes are pushing out the ends!
• You wear size 3 diapers.
• You are acting like you might be working on a tooth, but who knows?!  You drool like crazy, you chew on your fingers, and you have had some nasty diapers, but so far there's no sign of any teeth!
• You had a couple of rough weeks at the beginning of this month, but you seem to be back to sleeping through the night.  You go to bed around 8pm and sleep until about 5:30am.  You get up, eat, and go right back to sleep until around 8am.  Sometimes you will go back to sleep in Mommy's bed for a little bit.:)
• You take a morning nap for 30-45 minutes and an afternoon nap for 2-3 hours.  You usually take a catnap around lunchtime and suppertime.  You've started dropping those on occasion, but it doesn't always end up working out very well so we'll see if that continues!
• You like to play in your exersaucer, on your activity mat, and on a blanket with your toys.  You really love to lay on the bath mat and play with the shower curtain!
• You still love to take a bath.  We're thinking about taking you to some swim classes this winter so you can really kick around in the water. 
• You love music.  You listen to worship music while you are in the car and in your swing and you like to listen to toddler tunes on Pandora.  You love when Mama sings "Skinnamarink" to you!
• Your smile lights up the room.  Lots of people comment on how happy you are!
• Your arms and legs are almost always moving.  We know that when you start crawling, we are going to be very tired!:)
• You have acquired several nicknames in your short life: Lexi, Lex, Lexi girl, Sweet Petunia, Tuny, and Tunes are a few of them.

I shed a few tears today just thinking about how much I love you.  The joy you bring to our lives is just indescribable.  We will catch you watching us during the day and then you will just smile so big.  It.is.the.best.  We love you more than words can say, sweet girl!

Alexis is getting better at sitting all the time!  She still crashes pretty easily though.:)

Lily girl had her very first "spout" last weekend...so stinkin' cute!

We got to hang out at Jon and Nicole's last weekend and we went to Ossian Days.  Lexi, Lily, and Emerson snuggled up in their strollers!

Alexis loves to go visit Daddy at work. She got spoiled because we went to see him at lunch two times this week!:)

This is an uncharacteristically straight face for our smiley girl, but I just thought she looked SO sweet!:)

Lexi's First Hot Air Balloon

Back in August, we were hanging out with Shane, Michele, and the kids at our house and got to see Lexi's first hot air balloon!  We thought it was going to land in Nina's field, but it ended up pulling back up and landing a little further away.

Lexi's First Colts Game

Today, Alexis watched her very first Colts game with her daddy.  It was Andrew Luck's debut with the Colts and it didn't turn out very well!  I'm guessing this is the first of many Sundays watching our favorite team!

First Food!

At Lexi's four month appointment, Dr. Landrigan said it was okay to let her try rice cereal if she was seeming interested.  She had been having a LOT of trouble sleeping (which has never been an issue for her) so we decided to try feeding her some cereal in the evenings to see if it helped.  It was so fun to see her try something new!

All in all, I would say that she didn't love it and didn't hate it!
