Baby Bud

Meet our baby, Baby Bud!
We had an ultrasound on September 7th when I was 8 weeks, 4 days along. The baby was 2 cm long and the doctor said it looked perfect! The heartrate was 170bpm and that little beating was the most precious noise I've ever heard! The baby had arm 'buds' and leg 'buds' and a little bit of its tail left. We thought its little 'buds' were so cute and somehow we started calling the baby Bud! It is fun to have a nickname to call the baby instead of calling it an "it" all the time!

I've been having a little bit of spotting over the course of the last couple of days. We are praying that it is nothing to be concerned about and I have been trying to take it easy just in case. I am going to call the doctor's office again in the morning just to keep them updated on how things are going!

Willy Wonka, Jr.

On Friday night, we took the boys to see Willy Wonka, Jr. at the Pulse Opera House! Pat and Linda also went with us.
Here are my handsome dates before we left!

And one with me, too...I'm NOT talented with the self-portraits!:)

The boys in the lobby at the Pulse. They were so excited! Peyton was confused about what we were actually going to be doing. He asked me at one point if he was going to have to "play!"

Here are the cutest nephews in the world in front of the lobby on our way to the show. Peyton cracked me up when he asked where "Wonky Yonka" was!!! Ha!

The cast of the play was comprised of kids age 18 and under. They said the oldest was almost 17 and the youngest just turned 5. I was SO impressed by how well they did. Ben Warpup was hilarious as Augustus Gloop and I was so proud of him! Peyton and Zaya really liked the play and sat quietly through the whole thing. Peyton sat on my lap and asked lots of questions during it, but he was very interested in what was going on! Zaya's eyes were glued to the stage at all times. They both loved clapping after each song! At intermission, we went to the lobby and bought some Wonka candy. Some of the chocolate bars had golden tickets in them, but we didn't get one. Peyton was bummed! I laughed at how quickly he tore into the candy looking for one...he could have been in the play!:)

I had to take a picture of this before bed time. It made me think of all the grandparents in the same bed during the Willy Wonka play!:) We are so fortunate to have such great nephews (and a great niece, too!). They are so much fun and we look forward to doing many more fun things like this in the future together!

Trip to the Orchard!

We had a great weekend! On Saturday, we went to the County Line Orchard in Hobart, IN. It's the second time we've been there. It is an amazing place with lots of kids activities, a huge orchard, and the most amazing timber frame barn I've ever seen!
We rode on a wagon out to the orchard. It was a beautiful day, about 70 degrees and sunny!

Bry's the best apple picker! We picked quite a few Honeycrisp apples and some Jonathan, Granny Smith, and McIntosh.

The barn is just amazing. It is completely made out of timber...not one bit of metal or any nails were used in the construction! I can't wait to take our baby to this orchard someday!:)

Speaking of our baby, Baby Bud made his/her first trip to Cabela's on Saturday! We bought our very first baby item at Cabela's...a camoflauge bib! We figured a boy or a girl could wear the bib.

Bry in front of the big animal display at Cabela's. I called him a musk ox the other week so we had to get his picture with one!:)

We had so much fun together. I can't get over the fact that the next time we travel up to the orchard, we will have a baby with us! I can't wait!!!:)

Amazing News!

It's been quiet around my blog because I couldn't say anything without spilling the beans! We're...

Praise the Lord! We found out on August 3rd that we are finally pregnant with a miracle baby. We knew it was time to test (actually it was a couple days early) and we did our usual thing. I peed in a cup and we got the test ready. Bry set the timer on the microwave for 3 minutes and absolutely refused to let me look even a second early. He said we both had to look at it at the same time. I was kind of annoyed because I thought it was going to be the same as always...but, lo and behold, it was positive! I literally laughed until I cried! We were both in shock. Bry grabbed the camera and started videoing. I'll have to post that on another day.

We immediately went out to buy more pregnancy tests (we only had one left). I HAD to make sure that it was for real. On our way home, we stopped by Michele and Shane's house and told them. I was so excited that I thought I was going to burst!

We are now 9 weeks pregnant! We had an ultrasound last week and got to see our beautiful, perfect baby. Our doctor said everything looked great. We are so happy that God has blessed us with a baby and can't wait to tell him or her how faithful God has been to us in our lives!
