What Do You Do...

...when it rains at Daddy's softball game? Play in the car with Grandma and Grandpa!:)

Zaya Turns Three!

On Tuesday, our sweet Zaya baby turned three years old!  It is hard to believe that it's been three years since that darling child was born.  He is such a funny, loving, ornery, and precious kid!  He had a dinosaur-themed party last weekend to celebrate.

Aunt Kate with her nieces!

Peyton boy was being silly with his bucket.:)

Lexi got a little snoozer with Grandma!

The kids swam in the pool and played on Zay's new slip-n-slide!

Baby girl even got in on the action!;)

Zaya with his dinosaur cake!  We love our Zaya baby SO much!:)

Alexis: Two Months Old!

Here is my precious baby girl at two months old!  She is growing SO fast!

Alexis, this is what's happening this month:

  • You LOVE your activity mat!  You will lay on it for the longest time and just smile.
  • You like to take baths...you don't like drying off!  I don't think you like to be cold!
  • You usually sleep around 11-12 hours at night and you usually get up once in that period of time.  Two days ago, you slept for almost 9 hours straight!  It was awesome for Mommy!:)  You are still sleeping in your pack-n-play in our room for now.  We will probably wait until after we get back from vacation to put you in your crib at night.
  • You have finally started being a better napper!  You have been napping in your crib, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.  Today you slept for 3 hours and we had to wake you up to go to Grandma and Grandpa Hall's house!
  • You don't really like tummy time.  You usually fuss and lick the blanket that you are laying on the whole time!
  • You have a flat spot on the left side of your head because you lay on that side all the time!  Dr. Landrigan doesn't seem to be too worried about it yet, but told us to make you lay on your right side.  You sleep with a pillow in your bassinet now so that you have to look the other way.  If it doesn't get better in a few weeks, we may go try some physical therapy for your neck to see if it helps.
  • You've started blowing spit bubbles.
  • A lot of people say that you look like your daddy!  I've also heard several people say that you look like Zaya or Lily.  You look a lot like Zaya when we look at his baby pictures!
  • At your 2 month appointment, you weighed 13 lbs. 2 oz, which is the 97th percentile!  You were 23 inches long, which is the 75th percentile.  Your head circumference was 41 cm, which was the 97th percentile.  You are our big girl!:)
  • This month you stayed with someone other than Mommy or Daddy for the first time.  Grandma and Grandpa Hall kept you while Mommy and Daddy went to Aunt Kate's graduation.  They said you did great!
  • You wear size 1 diapers, but we are about to move you to size 2 when we run out of size 1's!
  • You are wearing 0-3 month or 3 month clothes.
  • You started using a sleep sack.  You seem to like it and you seem to know that it's time to sleep when I put you in it!
  • You are breastfeeding for about 5 minutes on each side every time you eat, which is about 6 times a day.  Dr. Landrigan says you must be a very efficient eater!  I love that you are quick!:)
  • You love to go for walks!  You go with Mommy on a walk several times a week around lunchtime and you go for walks with Mommy and Daddy in the evening sometimes, too.
  • You've decided that you don't want to be held like a "baby" any more.:(  You like to be facing outward so that you can see what's going on!  You will let us rock you if you are tired.
  • You like to watch your PraiseBaby DVD.
  • You have found your tongue!  You like to lick our shoulders or hands when we are holding you.  Silly girl!
  • You had 3 shots and an oral vaccine at your two month appointment.  You didn't have any side effects except maybe being a little more tired than usual.
  • Overall, you are becoming a much more content baby!

Baby girl, you make us smile every single day.  Now that you are napping better, I almost can't wait for you to wake up so I can snuggle you again!  You are growing so quickly and I know that we have to cherish these days when you are our little baby.  We love to watch you grow and change and we know that the coming months are going to be so exciting.  We pray every day for you to grow healthy and strong.  I always tell you that you will never know how much we love you until you have your own baby someday.  It is an indescribable feeling!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to my husband and my baby girl's daddy! Watching Bryan with Alexis is one of the greatest joys in my life. He is the best daddy and loves her so much.

Lexi and I gave Daddy all of the cliche Father's Day gifts: a grill brush, dress shirts and ties, a golfing day, and a handmade gift from his baby girl!:)  Funnily enough, he actually needed the grill brush and dress clothes.  He hasn't gotten to golf at all yet this year and I had to make him something using our precious baby's handprint!  We made a tiny keychain.

Here's Daddy and his girl this morning before church.  They got to snuggle in bed while Mommy got ready for church.  Alexis woke up so happy today!

My Loves

I took this picture last Sunday morning after I got out of the shower. I couldn't love these two any more if I tried!:)

Visit to IPFW

On Monday, Kate called and wanted us to run up to IPFW with her while she took her math placement test. I still can't believe she's going to college!:) While we were there, I took a quick picture with my girl at my alma mater. Some things had already changed a short five years post graduation!

Two Month Check Up

Today we went to Lexi's two month check up with Dr. Landrigan. She did great! She weighed 13 lbs. 2 oz. and measured 23 inches long. She had three shots and an oral vaccine. She didn't cry that much and Mommy didn't either!;) We're thankful for a healthy, growing girl!!!

Walking Women

Alexis and I go for a long walk around lunchtime several days a week. We usually go out to the hospital so we can also see Bryan for a few minutes! Here's Alexis with her daddy!

First Pair of Shoes

Daddy's in trouble...Lexi tried on her first pair of shoes and loved them! Such a cutie!

First Nap in Crib

Yesterday, Alexis took her first nap in her crib! It took her about 20 minutes to fall asleep and she only slept for about 25 minutes, but it's a start! Such a big girl!:)

Our Day

We are having the best day! Alexis has taken two 2 1/2 hour naps so far today and she has been SO happy in between! I think I've gotten more smiles in a couple hours today than in the whole last week! I love these days with my girl!:)

BFF

Alexis and Lily had fun playing together at Michele's last week! Lily gets SO excited when she sees Lexi...it won't be long until the feeling is mutual!:)

Sleepyhead

A couple of days ago, Alexis was very restless in her bed around 7am.  I knew she was still tired, but she just couldn't settle down.  I got her out and put her in bed with me.  She fell asleep and slept for an hour in our king size bed!  She looked like such a little pipsqueak!:)

Kate & Ty's Graduation Party

On Sunday, Kaitlyn and Tyler had their graduation party at Heritage Hall.  It worked out so much easier to have it there since Mom and Dad just moved last weekend!  My little sweet pea got all dressed up for the occasion.:)  Michele bought her and Lily matching outfits and they looked so cute!  I didn't get a picture of them together...I'll have to get one from Michele and put it on here!

We got Tyler and Kaitlyn a gift card to McDonald's (for breakfast), a gift card to Arby's (for supper), a gas card, sunscreen, a water spraying fan, a mesh carrying bag, and tickets to Cedar Point!  We wanted to give them something that would allow them to have FUN this summer.  The summer after high school was the height of the carefree life for Bryan and me...I hope they enjoy their time!:)

My 6 Week Check Up

Last week, I had my six week postpartum check with Dr. Kennedy.  I just love my doctor!  I asked her if she would mind if I took her picture with Alexis and she just got her right out of her carseat and cuddled her up!  She gave us a sweet little blanket that says, "Handled with care by Dr. Kennedy."  I am SO thankful to have a doctor that I like and trust.

After we left the doctor's office, we went and surprised Michele at the salon!  She hadn't started for the day yet so she had a few minutes to snuggle with Lexi.  I wonder when Alexis will sit in that chair to get her hair done for the first time...given her current amount of hair, it might be a while!:)

Kate's HS Graduation

On Friday night, Kate and Tyler graduated from high school!  We were WAY high up so these pictures aren't very good.  I can't believe Kaitlyn is old enough to be graduating and going to college!  I am very proud of who she has become and I can't wait to see how she continues to mature and grow into the woman God made her to be!:)

Friday night was also a big night because it was the first time we left Alexis with a babysitter!  She stayed with Pat and Linda while we went to the graduation ceremony.  I was sad to leave my baby girl!  She did really well though.  We were so glad!
Here's me and my handsome husband on our first hot "date" post baby!  Ha!:)

My girl!

Sometimes it's tough being a girl! Ha!!! This is how I found my sweet girl after a trip home from Fort Wayne. Of course, I had to take a picture before I rescued her!:)
